So if we on this forum can see the huge problems with the US health system, why is that so may Americans don't se the problem, or refuse to acknowledge it?

3) If you have employer coverage then you have to take that into consideration if you want to change employers. It limits freedom of employment like a form of slavery.
Exactly Right Flashman.

#1 Correct.

#2 Correct.

#3 Correct again.

#3 if you leave a job there is usually a waiting period before your new insurance becomes active, it can be 3 or 6 months, during that time you have to buy your own insurance or go without, and chances are your new insurer wont want to cover any pre-existing conditions.

First of all, Millions of Americans want a better healthcare system and real reform,
the news media seems to focus on the people who don't want healthcare reform.

Why do many Americans not see a problem or refuse to acknowledge it?

Ignorance.
Fear.
Religion.
Political party.
Bad Media Info.
Lies, Lies, Lies.
Maybe some are sitting pretty right now, with a great plan at least for today.
Many of the ignorant are lied to and have no clue that other countries have a better system.

Hi again Fulwood, I found the web page, I have no idea how to get the link to you so you will have to look it up yourself. Type in property to rent Belfast, go to rentals, and fill the form in. i.e. max rent £550 pcm go to page 35 and you will see the Maranatha self catering, Ravenhill Belfast, you will be able to see the property. The agent is Templeton Robinson, 54, High Street, Holywood, Co. Down Phone number 02890 424747, but they have a link to email the company from this page. As I said I am not great with the computer so would have been easier to send you the link, just don't know how. It states apartments can be rented from 3 days to long term, so I suppose time of year and length of stay will dictate price, but when I Looked it said starting from £200. Would love to hear how you get on, so will you let me know? Hope you have a great time if you come to Belfast, and should you want any more information regarding sightseeing just let me know. There is a place in the centre of Belfast called the Welcome Centre, it is a form of tourist information office, and they have little booklets about all the sightseeing tours, theatres, restaurants, pubs ect: and can book anything for you free, but should you want me to check anything out for you, I would be only to happy to do so, please don't hesitate. Cead mile failte (hundred thousand welcomes) Good luck Denise 2

We had a private family plan for a few years all we could afford had a $15,000 annual deductible, and for them to cover 100% two of us had to meet the deductible. one of those years we spent more than half our net income in medical bills, co pays, deductibles. My fault I got sick and Ds also ended up in hospital for one night it was horrendous.

Sorry to keep going off-topic, but I just remembered a comedy programme I have recently found and enjoy - Gary Tank Commander, about a bunch of hapless army recruits. I'm not sure if it's a BBC Scotland only programme, but if so they definitely should broadcast it nationally.

You'll have to go and stand out in the hall if you don't stop going off topic

Great clip, it reminded me of another comedy I used to enjoy, Rab C Nesbitt.

i googled the place and it looks nice. has guest house with 10 rooms and then guest houses. the rooms in the guest house seem decent as rates are like 30 pp per night and includes breakfast. i had another place looked into but this place does look nice and worth researching more. i may pm you privately if okay as sure others don't want me writing about my trip to Ireland and taking up space on this board..thanks..

I was about to post in the over 50s and 60s thread because I'm beyond upset to have just got another insurance increase - this time 27% - despite hardly using it.

But I see that topic is still off limits and one member yelling at everyone to shut up, so here I am back in our little ghetto.

In 2014, insurance companies will no longer be able to throw people off their plans for no reason, no longer be able to increase annual premiums by unreasonable amounts, and no longer be able to deny anyone coverage. And right now the Republicans are fighting tooth and nail to take that little bit of progress away from the American people. Why they are not fighting back, I have no idea.

Today I saw that idiot Michelle Bachmann calling Obama's incremental reform of the private insurance system "the crown jewel of socialism." Oh shut your pie hole you stupid harpie!

at the bolded part
Oh and we aren't the ghetto, we are a private rose garden.
I wanted to have a go at some republican friends this morning who were harping on about the reforms and how they are getting rid of Obamas health plan. In my head I was sing, Blah, Blah Blah
I can't say anything I am short on friends in this little republican mini bible belt as it is.

Do you have any links that show the difference between Glasgow and Edinburgh accents? So what's up with people from Edinburgh that I hear? They think they are special for some reason?

I did, honestly what gives? I guess the cold has numbed her sense of humor over there.
Holy cow, does she feel responsible for the health care situation and is so sensitive about it? Or is it guilt at having use of the NHS Who knows!
It pissed me off though.
