The UK has seriously deteriorated in some areas, it has probably some of the dirtiest parts of Europe, take a Barging Holiday on the Continent, then do the same in the U.K, the difference in cleanliness is hugely noticeable.

I visit the UK routinely, but have the means to stay in the nicer areas and to enjoy those parts that are yet unspoiled.

In Canada, we drink to socialise, in the UK far too many drink to get drunk.

Oh yes, I did attend several U.S Universities, post Grad, also attended 3 Canadian Universities.

Completely disagree with you and your friend ukflyaway (are you the same person?). Two bitter people with a personal grudge against the UK for some reason... You are on the Moving back to UK section spouting a load of b*llocks concerning things you know nothing about. I think the pub culture in the UK means we, more than most other countries, drink to socialise than to get drunk.

Stay out of this thread as you clearly don't intend to move back to the UK and stay away from the UK full stop!

Untrue, I have seen more slums in parts of Paris than I ever saw in Birmingham.

Nation Master needs to update the stats.

In 2005, Trinidad and Tobago, with a population of a little over 1m (1,070,000 according to the CIA Factbook) had 387 murders or 0.362 per 1,000.

Up to March 2006, there have already been 110 murders in T&T, a trend that will eclipse the record 387 set last year.

In this 99/2000! survey, The UK is really low on the list but if you split it into the home nations, England and Wales have like 0.7 per 100,000 whereas Scotland has 2.5 or something its the second highest in western Europe.

The UK seems to be on a slippery slope as far as crime is concerned , this will probably stay that way until you control the 1000's of fundamentalists & eastern European/African/Asian, etc. criminals that your government has allowed in, lowering your standard of living in most areas.

That's what trolls try to do unfortunately.

Probably a teenager with access to their parent's computer.

If you call having more material things around you 'bettering' your life, then I actually feel quite sad for you. I could tell you what we have here but it has no relevance to how I feel because I am not a materialistic person.

As for your saying "I did not realise I was not aloud to stick up for both nations.. I must be the lone voice.
, that sounds like something I would expect from a child. You rather like yourself don't you, 'the lone voice' indeed.
Debate.. don't "debunk" it does not become you.

You might want to try and think a little longer before responding and get some interesting ideas from all the interesting folks that have bothered to come her.
little minded people who have stayed in there own little corner of the world should be heard just as much as the people who have decided that life may have more/different types of adventure and opportunities.

licking my spoon now...

Well come to think about it, I've also got a mate who is a heavyweight boxer, and he doesn't dare walk home from bingo evening on his own in Weston-Super-Mare because of all the murderous thugs on the prowl. Of course, he wouldn't want to walk home anyway seeing as it always rains in England and it's always cold, not to mention full of litter.... so maybe ukflyaway is correct after all!! Run away!!
