Thats huge for UK Kampaicharger.
I'm looking forward to something smaller like a little ford Ka, ok maybe not that small but smaller than my Ford Taurus, I'll miss the big boot.

Hello Kampaicharger. I am 50 years old and I was whisked away to Australia at the tender age of 10 months old from the mother country in 1963. I am also making the big move next year with my family to settle in UK. Can't wait. Tried it out last year for six months and loved it. Counting down the days.......

This is my first time back in 44 years and although I came back as a foreigner with no pre-conceptions there was an odd feeling of familiarity from the moment I arrived.
I genuinely believe there is good and bad in both Uk and OZ but I am simply not interested in hearing about the bad stuff in either country.
Instead, I am going to enjoy all that is good about the UK and will base myself here for the forseeable future as i explore the "third rock from the sun" from the bits at the northern end all the way down to the med.
And at the moment I am enjoying that people don't mind stopping for a chinwag, having a pint at my local, "so that's what a pork pie tastes like", everything being so flamin' green, walking along blackpool front beach and just being "here".

And that vehicle should work well for the long-distance travel you're planning on.

If you talk about the bad, that's all you'll see. If you see the good, you won't have to look to far to find more of it.

Crikeee, stone the crows, ya wouldn't read about it!!!!!!
Currently sat at the side of the med near Torrevieja wondering where the heck!!! the last six months have gone.
It has been a whirlwind of places that I had only ever seen on telly and I have no idea when we will stop, but as they say in the classics "you ain't here for a long time so you may as well have a good time"
Will try and work out how to post pictures and try and pick out some of the highlights.
Problem is I have no idea where I want to settle down so until I do I will continue to classify myself as a returned 10 quid pom who has decided to sit by a poolside bar in glorious sunshine, drinking ice cold beer and wondering if it is still raining back in the UK..........

ecky thump and crikey......
it only seems like yesterday (March 2012) that I started giving serious thought to moving back to the UK.
Yesterday, I put my retirement papers in and will cease to attend the workplace on the 12th of April.
Flying out Etihad on the 24th May (can I claim a refund of me ten quid from 1969). I will set foot on UK soil for the first time in 44 years on the 25th.
House is sold, car and bike to be sold along with what few possessions I have not already given away or gifted to others.
My first stop will be in that sub-tropical oasis with swaying palm trees and sandy beaches. Yes that's right, Lancashire.

Or maybe, I'm holding the atlas the wrong way up.
Doesn't matter I shall sally forth with a stiff upper lip and a song in my heart.
As for now, I'm packing me socks and the missus is packin' the brits (yes that's rhyming slang) either way I am looking forward to a truly excellant adventure.

There is a tax treaty between Australia and UK so as long as you declare in one country you don't declare in the other.
