Thank you Tina, we have a viewing tomorrow:fingerscrossed:

I have just watched this hilarious clip from 1963 Dinner for One with Freddie Frinton, remember him? A curious thing: the germans show this every year on 31st December on every channel!

A nice way to celebrate a return home too for Jackie!

haha this reminds me of my sister, who was very very excited to show me her knew purchase ( in the kitchen I hasten to add) an AMERICAN FRIDGE! I of course to begin with did not know what the excitement was all about, until my SIL nudged me and whispered in my ear The Fridge.
Yes the regular ones are so small, eggs in the fridge in my house and salad cream but not ketchup.

The UK I remember was a fridge except maybe 2 days a year when it hit 70 degrees (up north) and then people were fainting all over the place from the 'heat'. This is my memory anyway.

Strange that. I've been thinking of this in the last few weeks and I was going to quote the little I remember of it but then I thought noooooo.

So here is my question. If we had used another group would they have taken offense? Meaning, knock out the word 'Welshman' and use another group and I think people would jump on you really fast but we Welshmen can take it, right?

Cheers

My friend in the UK has a really small kitchen and when he had it redone, he decided to splash out on a huge fridge even though he didn't really have room for it. The one he got is twice the size of mine and way too big for the room.

When you go into his kitchen, you have to shimmy round it to get to the sink.

Your right about that, the not parting with old food. My Nana (and Dh's grandma both) used to feed us out of the larder when we were little (think 60's and 70's) they were war rations, in cans we didn't know what some of it was till it was opened, no labels

Rodney, I found in England nobody keeps eggs, sauces or salad cream in the fridge, I suppose they don't have to as the weather doesn't get as hot as we are used to. That's how my family know I am around as all of the above get put in the fridge plus jam, etc. as I go on auto pilot after 30 years living here.

Have you noticed how small the fridges are?

Hi Barb - They are only small if you have no where to put a big 'un! My fridge and freezer are both large , because I have room for them! - Do have alook at Currys web site. Love dontheturner
