Re: OVER 50's & 60's MOVING BACK TO THE UK - Part II
Well I had my little ferry ride over to Gosport to my Dermatologist, I had a very good unhurried examination, I had to strip down to my underwear even though it was only on the feet, anyway my feet are in a bad way, and they are badly infected, so I got 5 items on this prescription --- including two different kinds of antibiotics for 7 days each,
The Dermatologist was a Woman, remember I have always had very good luck with WOMEN
She has fixed me up with 28 treatments of ultra violet light treatment at the hospital in Portsmouth St Marys, 2 each week for 14 weeks, that is supposed to really help it,
Take care.
Rodney.

I had the ultra violet treatment on my left hand 15 years ago, It was a success, It never returned, I went numerous times every week for months, it sounds like the same thing to me, They brushed a white paste over the affected area and then I put my hand under the light, I had to wear goggles as the light isn't good for you, if they don't give you goggles close your eyes and look away.
I had skin cancer on my face a year ago, (sun damage, I work outside) I went to see a dermatologist, I was surprised when the young lady told me to strip down to my underwear...
Did your Dr peek under your undies??? Mine Did hahahahahaaaaa..
Good Luck Pal, you'll do alright...

I would never put the las vegas down, it is a great city, people come from all over the world to see this city..I have lived here for 28 years and it has not been the gambling that has kept me. The beautiful sights to be seen surrounding the Valley, the wonderful entertainment , the weather, Hoover Dam, it is ridiculous to think that all this city is about is gambling, it is so much more than that...I am leaving yes, but this has been my home for a long time, and I get really upset with people who try to cheapen and belittle it, most of witch have never been here....sorry had to rant..I am going to miss Las Vegas...

The reality is that waiting times are all relative depending upon location and condition.
The NHS is wonderful, folks, but good grief, it still has its share of serious shortcomings!!!!

I did notice on my letter from the Dermatologist at the hospital that I had to hand in to the front desk before leaving, it said that the 18 week thing was waived, and reason put was severe skin condition or something, I Just glanced at it,
Rodney.
PS I think your Job interview is tomorrow so good luck again,

Re: Morrisons
When we were in Devon for our pre-Christmas get together with the fam, we did our shopping at a Morrisons. Wow - what a great store. We loved it! (They had the best pizza I've ever tasted.)
Always heard they were only up North but I went on their website this morning (link above) and discovered that there are 2 of them within a 9-mile radius of us (Greater London), so definitely going to check this out over the week-end.

Good luck Denise hope all goes well. Hope your skin complaint gets better Rodney, I have a friend who has the same problem
all over his body, and has to go to the light treatment, it seems to really help
so good luck. I agree with you Denise the NHS has really good aspects, but also has shortcomings too, It has been great for my husband, as they saved his life, so I will not rubbish it, and his free medication saves us a fortune, I just wish
it was'nt abused so much, by people coming here and using it for free, and when I say that I mean people who are not entitled, who are not from the uk, or married to a UK citzen, when I go abroad I have to pay for that service, so why are people from other countries not charged and the money put back into the system Denise 2

Well with the stripping they just wanted to see if there are any other signs of the condition elsewhere, I have it bad on both feet --- but also on lower back and elbows,
Both My GP Doctors here in UK diagnosed it as Eczema, but the Dermatologist said its definitely Psoriasis, and Its the same thing in US all the GP,s I have seen over the years have always thought it was Eczema, and all the specialists said it was for sure Psoriasis, ---- so at least thats the same both sides of the Atlantic
Take care pal,
Rodney.

Havent checked out the Pizza yet, thanks next week we must try one, trouble is I noticed at most stores they dont sell the one I love and thats the Hawaiian one ham & pineapple,
Denise something you may be able to help me with --- you being American & all and living over here in UK, ---- I love hot sauce like tabasco on chicken and fish and also my eggs & omelettes when I cook them, I have searched and searched for any kind of hot sauce and it seems it dont exist over here ---- and also Ive looked and looked for any type of steak sauce too, my favorite is heinze 57, do you know any store over here that sales them? --- I bought a nice pack of 4 big thick sirloin steaks yesterday, cost on sale at the local high street Butcher Shop was £10 for the pack, not bad really for over here, but I took them home and I cooked one each for me and Mum last night, we had them with oven chips and peas, and I enjoyed it as it was the first steak Ive eaten since leaving Las Vegas, and Mum loved it, said that was a special treat, --- but Denise our taste buds I think are a lot different then the local people over here, the steak did not have any taste to it at all, even though I seasoned it with salt & black pepper before cooking,
I wanted to add my usual garlic but Mum dont like anything added to anything except a little pepper, I think thats how most English like there food kind of Blan is that the word? but that steak just ddidn'ttaste like any steak in America that I have ever had --- even without seasoning the steaks in US are very tasty --- you know what I mean, what do you think? mmaybeif I had some 57 sauce to put on it --- it would have maybe had a little taste,
Take care,
Rodney.
