The demise is due to the no smoking laws, methinks. The latest of my locals to disappear had been serving for over 300 years.

Well, okay folks ... it's almost 11pm Saturday night and we've said our good-byes (a bit more difficult than I imagined) and we're now ready to unplug this computer, pack it in the suitcase, and start a new life.
THANK YOU everyone for your friendship, advice, suggestions, encouragement, support ... and WISDOM.
I can't wait to give you an update and I promise to give the good with the bad - for that is the reality of life, isn't it?
Take care and keep the kettle warm.

Looks like I will be the next one home, I leave on Tuesday for bonnie Scotlland, can't wait
Been so busy getting things arranged, haven't been able to keep up with this thread, so if anyone else has headed home or is heading home soon, all of my best to you all

First post for a long time and looks like I am too late to wish Denise & Tony Bon Voyage. If you are reading have a wonderful time on the QM 2 and some much needed rest .
Our plans have had a few hiccups and our sale has fallen through. Trying to regroup at the moment and start again. At least we have done lots of packing and have had 3 yard sales.
Have to catch up with so many new posts on here since last time visiting.

Cigi, As opposed to all this sarcasm, I am 'accused' of, Let me say, the web site you give at the bottom, tells fantastic stories, of the old pub. I think it should be preserved - you know - repaired enough for it to continue. I would love to visit, and take photos, for posterity. THANK YOU dontheturner

I have been going back over all the posts made and have reached page 100. I was intending on putting the information all in one post but I am worried I will lose all I have entered so I am posting the first of 3 information posts for those interested. Hope it helps. Perhaps later I will go back and combine them all.
