Is there anyone on here in a similar situation?
I'm tired of being so alone.

Oh boy!! This sounds like me - divorced many years and all alone struggling to just get by. The only difference is I don't have children.

I always end up getting really homesick because with each passing day, I want to go back home to the UK more and more but things get more difficult here that even finding a way to do it seems impossible at times.

I have lived Africa since the late eighties. married a Portuguese here. everything started well until ten years ago we we sold our properties to invest in a farm. everything went downhill from there and for the last ten years we've been struggling. its been awful, awful, awful. I just want to go home now very badly. money very low for us don't even have enough at the money to renew my passport. we're tting to sell the farm but itsnever really been put into our name so we're waiting for that to happen first before we can sell. things in this country can take a VERY long time.

Nice to see you back on here, Windsong. What happened to your plans to go to Boston? Was thinking it would have been a nice stepping stone for you until you could move back home.

Yes, it would have been. Unfortunately, the person who was helping with all this let me down so I appear to be stuck in the midwest. Trying to get out of here sometimes feels like trying to get out of quicksand. :(

I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope something else will come along. I do wish you luck. :fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed:

Thank you :) It will happen . . . eventually - getting back home to the UK, I mean ;)

I am presently interviewing for a fantastic job here which would allow me to begin to save to go back home. Fingers crossed!
