These are very emotional times and tempers have been flying high.
The internet is not a good medium for having emotionally driven
discussions, but it does at least offer the possibility to have
a semblance of a cultural exchange without travelling.
In fact you can get in touch with all kinds of weirdos you'd never
even want to meet as a regular tourist! .
At least the NG offers the possibility to try out opposing stances
without causing any physical damage.
If the group were moderated, this would be diluted. I was about to
use the word "destroyed", but that would be unfair to Yves,
who I do believe would try to maintain neutrality.
BTW
We're having two (actually 2.5) Americans for dinner on Saturday
evening,
this will be a realtime cultural exchange.

We were thinking of marinading with some ears of garlic and
chopped marjoram, then brazed with shallots and white wine.
Do you think that might still be too fatty?

It takes some practice to get the technique right, but if you cut right down
the middle the ribcage will separate neatly, revealing as many hamburgers
and freedom fries as you could possibly want.

More than I would ever want.

Are you sure? Coroners usually use large cable-cutter-like devices to
quickly remove the ribs, if I'm not mistaken.

Yes, but the subjects in question are bursting at the seams with hamburgers.
It's almost impossible to open an unripe chestnut, but wait a couple weeks,
and it barely holds together.

We seem to think alike about the really important things, Mxsmanic - I
guess I must put up with your pontificating about the lesser ones!

You flatter yourself, turkey! Yves has brought this up many times in
the past, and received the same responses (long before your unwelcome
advent here).

From your mouth to God's ear! (Then maybe he'd have proper medical
care, and no longer be allowed to annoy his betters.)
