I'm sorry to report Gaston was captured today before he had a chance to escape into
Germany...

Probably just as well. The Germans are tough on asylum seekers although a

justified fear of being locked up might have gotten him thru.

Obviously "newstartnz" has never seen a flood-damaged area!

I would suggest to postpone the visit. Not only mentioned smell, but expect
mosquitos. Moreover traffic is in total mess, even to get from the airport to
downtown is very tricky now.

I agree that tourist attractions are O.K., nevertheless Jewish City was flooded.
The biggest hit for our heritage seems to be flooding of National Library near
Charles Bridge.

Actually towards North Sea. Gaston crossed boundary with Germany followed by a

My take on it is that Gaston thought he was heading for the Baltic. When he
discovered that he was off course, he surrendered. Who wants to swim in the
North Sea?

CNN reported that the Cesky Krumlov Old Town district was completely submerged and
would not likely be open for tourism this season.

OTOH, the Charles Bridge itself will reopen for the public tomorrow.
