I believe the airline will do it if the passenger can pay the compensation.
Ms. Cruz probably has enough money to settle the bill from Continental, so
it seems to be a minor problem.

Listen, why didn't anybody accuse Travis of prima donnism when he had
his panic attack on the runway in Paris, Texas? He certainly was no
celebrity, and they allowed him to leave the flight. Wasn't even pretty.

What makes you say that?
And do you think flight attendants check to see whose credit card the ticket
was charged to? I'm saying: first class seats to Europe are expensive.
Whoever is sitting in them is (maybe) gonna get first class treatment - in
part because somebody paid for them to.

Caffeine. And a hunch that Ms Cruz, in common with most in her pay
grade, has not had to pick up any checks in some time running.
But if it's true a megastar flying to a film location has to log onto
Travelocity just like me, then I'm well pleased the revolution is advancing.

I think if I have a panic attack aboard, I'm met by airport security and
taken off the flight in handcuffs, no matter what the name on my ticket.
I think if the same anxiety occurs to Ms Cruz, my bags are dumped out in
the rain just like all the coach fares, no matter who pays for her ticket.
Question: Supposing Milton Federest of Bayview Motels is flying First
Class to Barcelona for a Time Share Conference on his expense account
and suffers high anxiety low down on the runway. Would the entire
contents of the baggage carrier be set out in the rain and the whole
flight be held for five hours and all for this balding dumpy hotel
executive?

Could be, especially post-9/11. They won't let crazy people or rich people
or rich crazy people who want/must get off the plane deplane without their
baggage. Post 9/11, if the passenger gets off, the baggage has to get off.
Applies to coach passengers, too. So I'm just sayin' maybe this isn't all
about rich 'tude.

Maybe not. No, probably not, you're right.
And another element. An actor is, so I've heard, encouraged to seek her
inner child. James Dean was directed to express rage at daddy. In any
event, what the actor feels inside is weighted much higher by her, and
by extension or by common usage her audience, than my bladder at Newark.
And so Ms Cruz has not only the experience, the capacity of expressing
what she feels, she has every confidence that feeling should matter
generally, a sense utterly lacking in me, and others in coach class, I'd
reckon.
Is Ms Cruz Basque, by the way? Better check.
