New York City's very strict smoking ban makes exceptions for cigar and
hookah bars. I can't imagine Amsterdam wouldn't do the same for
cannabis cafes.

Almost choked? I think you are exaggerating quite a bit. It's smelly,
and a bit unpleasant, but it wont kill you for a trip to the loo.

Better for you. I'm just glad I smoked pot instead of cigarettes, at
least that is easy to give up.

They might do, but joints are part tobacco, so the ban would become
unworkable. A smoker could merely claim it was a joint.

A little hyperbole ther, but not as much as you might think for
someone who is sensitive to cigarette smoke.

You made your joints with tobacco?

Yes. Joints with just weed burn poorly.

This is why nearly everyone mixes some tobacco with it, as the tobacco
burns at a lower temperature, and makes it more pleasant to smoke.

Not around Tucson. Especially not back in the days when marijuana
was our biggest produce import (Tucson is a major distribution
center for Mexican produce).

During my last trip to the UK I noticed how much pubs stink. Oddly,
even though I detest it, I found it kinda nice that it was still
happening. Must have been some conservative element left in me.

Twenty years ago, I smoked a pipe. I gave it up prior to heart
surgery and have never felt the urge to smoke again. It is
amazing how sensitive one becomes to smokers, say in a library,
who go outside and come back absolutely reeking! At the weekend,
the power went off and I had to make a quiick decision about a
hotel room since they were going quickly. I took a smoking room
and it was not too bad. What was irritating was that I could
smell the smoke on my clothes and in my sinuses for about a day
after I went home the next day.

Interestingly, this will make the UK laws among the strictest, as the
question of "hookah bars" was the subject of a TV item a couple of weeks
ago. It was made clear that there will be NO exceptions. These
coffee/smoking bars will, after the 1st July, have to provide coffee only.

Maybe that was why Jojo left home?

If the new puritans of the Labour party weren't going to make an exception
for working men's clubs they certainly weren't going to make an exception
for the new and trendy London hookah bars...

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe.
Barbeques on fire by the chalets past the castle headland
I watched the gift shops glitter in the darkness off the Newborough gate
All these moments will be lost in time, like icecream on the beach
Time for tea.

Plenty of smokers outside already, especially at the moment given the
run of great weather in London and other parts of the UK.
