That was then. Nowadays, I imagine, the Air Force could make
quite a lot of money if they chose to sell tickets to some carefully
pre-screened civilian travelers.

I know I wouldn't mind flying next to a bunch of guys with M16's.
Crappy service, tasteless food, noise, or foul language, notwithstanding.

That is hard to understand for the "les anglo-saxon"
"masters of the universe". They leave the US expecting
that everyone will speak perfect English to them.
Then they come back from France saying that the French
were rude to them. Well guess what, the Earth doesn't
rotate around them, not yet.

Nah! It all goes back to Sobievski bailing out the Hapsburgs. It would
have been better with the muslims on the border.

*waiting an hour has nothing to do with LOT airlines

*buying your tickets a week, a month, 6 months, a year or even 10 years in
advance dont make any difference about seating if its not prebooked. also
the reason you waited 75 mins to checkin was prob the fact you was near the
last to checkin and the queue just piled up and hence you got crappy seats
too

*Polish airline, polish crew........ being english or american, you cant
expect everyone to just speak english. If you like that then i'd guess
maybe next time travel with either an american or british carrier.

*you not notice not everyone has the same taste buds, think poor souls who
dont like strong taste what can they do about it, if it was suited to your
needs? put water in to dilute the taste? next time try looking for the salt
and pepper.

*if you complained about everything then i guess maybe they were avoiding
you.

What does it have to do with LOT itself?

Yes, some such morons keep asking people
"where are you from?" as if they were still in the
US and the asked guy just arrived there yesterday.
They don't know they have crossed any border.

I believe they are perfectly capable of asking Polish people
in Poland "where are you from?"
But not all the Americans are such.
Such morons happen to live in every country.
They are just the most vociferous.

So what are you talking about.
Obviously LOT is an independent airline fully responsible for its service.
STAR-alliance is a an alliance for cooperation not being a shareholder for
the participating airlines.

that's the same it took in las vegas mccarran 6 days ago, when we were
checking in with american west airlines. 75+ minutes.
please, add the fact that we weren't allowed to lock our luggage
--funny and pleasant thing--.
and, once more, it took *90* minutes to check in in san francisco when
leaving to london, with british airways.
only 20 minutes for *fast bag drop* in london to italy --no real
check-in: only baggage drop--.

Is STAR-alliance capable to kick off misbehaving members?

STAR-aliace is *somehow* responsible for every of its members. They are
*AT LEAST* responsible for removing substandard airlines from the
aliance.

So long checks in are not "LOT specific" in USA airports?

I am a Pole and was flying with Lufthansa few times. Always the women on
board in Lufthansa were much nicer to me than in LOT Polish airlines.
FINNAIR, Aerlingus, Ryanair and JAL also were OK to me. The nicest ladies
were in KLM. I love flying the Dutch KLM. They just love their passengers.

The only more rude than some of those hags from LOT were witches in British
Airways planes.

That is my personal opinion obviously.
