keep in touch with his chums by imparting a few pearls of wisdom to his
perceived US-centric audience. Don't forget that, although he is a citizen
of the Fifth Republic, his mindset is still based on the side of the
Atlantic which the Chancellor is currently visiting, and to such people
irony is something which is from Pittsburgh.
