From what I read it was not just a tantrum, but because she would not
take her seat the flight had already been delayed. The family was
removed to avoid further delay to the remaining passengers, some of
whom may have had connecting flights.

does not *want* to sit down..." as if the planet should stop spinning because their kid
can't obey.

I wonder how many 3 year olds kids 50 years ago would "refuse to take
their seats" to the point of the family having to leave the plane?
