Certainly not - I'm a homeless person, getting a private plane would
certainly be an extravagance before a place to live, but I couldn't
afford one made out of more than paper anyway.

so the logic is if we cant afford to travel "first class" then we have
to tolerant of poor behavior?
So if I travel on something *very* cheap like a bus, then I have to
tolerate even worse behavior, dirty feet on seats, spitting, swearing,
scrathinig the windows? I knew there was a reason I dont use busues.

I don't have any problem flying, but it helps being short. Off to
Cologne tomorrow (that's Kln for you, Reid!) to see an entire Wagner
Ring Cycle over the weekend. Following weekend fying to Bergen to visit
my brother and his family. I don't find flying stinks at all...

Maybe you should change your attitude a bit too. Travelled fairly
cheaply up to Manchester from London today (25 return) and it was a
very civilised journey. Got a heck of a lot of work done on the laptop
too.

Depends how fast they ride those Valkyries! Between 15-17 hours- it's in
4 parts, or a prologue (Das Rheingold) and three operas (Die Walkre,
Siegfried and Gtterdmmerung.) two on Saturday, two on Sunday.

You're not, but you have this surreal view of public transport being
constantly inhabited by oiks. That's not the reality on most of my
journeys.

Being tolerant to bad behaviour is not going to solve the problem - which is NOT
"attitude".

No, I think people should be tolerant of poor behaviour in general, I
don't think intolerance is a good thing, certainly when it's over
obesity or crying children.

And travelling first class is no barrier to poor behaviour (there was
a report in the papers of the last couple of days for example.

Not as long as you define "bad behaviour" as "what I don't like".

Great. Make us a list of bad behaviour you "like".
