Now we are advised to order via Germany or France to avoid additional charges.

, for example:https://www.amazon.es/Barrys-Tea/s?k=Barry%27s+Tea
https://www.amazon.es/Barrys-Tea-Gol...9289944&sr=8-1
https://www.amazon.es/sp?_encoding=U...3Q4R&sshmPath=
PS A trick - if you find something on one Amazon, then its usually enough just to manually change the 'es' /'de' / 'co.uk' etc in the browser's address bar to find the same thing on the 'other' Amazon site, e.g.
https://www.amazon.de/Barrys-Tea-Gol...9289944&sr=8-1

No, but orders from Amazon.es are likely to be supplied from Ireland
, for example:

Another Lidl option is the Hatherwood line that's their brand for the occasional "British products" promo.
My local store still has some of the English Breakfast tea from the last one of those - it's at the front of the store just by the entrance, not in with the main tea stock.
It's a bit stronger and rather better than the Lord Nelson, in my opinion, although my top preference is for loose leaves that I buy in an old fashioned place in Braga at an absolute bargain price of about 13€ kg. I keep running out of it and its a bit of a schlep just to buy tea, so I have the others as backup.

No substitutes but possible alternative once in a while try the Brazilian ones from Lidl - the next time you buy tea. Firmer, more meaty but tasty.

I order my tea from Netherlands, because we used to live around the corner from this shop; https://www.simonlevelt.nl/
We like Earl Grey Darjeeling.
The cost is cheaper than PT supermarket and the quality is much higher.
They sell bags, but we prefer to buy loose tea and spoon it into one use bags from Aldi.

"Back the bacon" in Caldas do bacon, sausages, pies, gammon, seasoned chicken etc. The bacon is very good quality and price (aparantly English company but with a factory in Spain), the pies, sausages, etc all still coming direct from uk (I think he said he had a 12month dispensation so may end Dec 31st) and I think he dies delivery all over Portugal via his website.
Also for tea as someone has mentioned Dutch tea being good quality and value there's a place in Caldas again called "mini mercado holanda" doing a large range of goods (I think they only have a Facebook page)
Finally a non Caldas one is a website I found "nevis.pt" which has some wonderful stuff (disclaimer that I've not actually made an order yet) from all over the world with good prices.
I've deliberately not provided any direct links as I know its a bit of a minefield between recommendations and advertising on forums.
I can happily vouch for the bacon, but Havnt used the other two yet and have no affiliations with any.

Any recommendations for a good, basic Dutch tea brand? I like Earl Grey but its not my staple tea
I dont miss any &/or can get all I want in terms of food, but I need my tea

I just found Britishcornershop who deliver from an EU location so no customs, PG tips 240 bags for €14 plus €5 delivery. Never used them and no connection etc
