Default Teabags!

OK, forget the rest of the hassle because of Brexit - I am running out of Teabags!

I used to just order them through Amazon.UK, but now that is fraught with danger and hassle (I have just given up trying to 'de-customs' a package on the nightmare online system, and that was ordered from Amazon.es but was sneakily from the UK)

Or friends would bring out large sacks of teabags every now and again, but Covid has knocked that on the head

So, where / how do people get their teabags from these days?

I want UK teabags, PT tea bags are fabulously expensive and p!ss weak
PG-tips are fine by me, but I am not fussy
Price is important since I drink lots of the stuff

Thanks, this is important.

Buy the Lidl Lord Nelson breakfast tea - boxes of 50 almost indistinguisable from typical UK black tea.

Amazon.es sell a variety of tea bags and I believe that they deliver to Portugal.

Yup. They do deliver to portugal but you have to be careful as they often send from UK. E.g below is from Norwich

Having got a bit stressed about this during the last lockdown, (strangely less worried about dying from the virus) I spent a few days engaged in extensive research into which tea would replace yorkshire tea as our house brew as it was too much hassle to order from the UK and besides I wasn't feeling particularly disposed to spending any money in the UK. I tried most readily available brands here (I live in central Portugal not Algarve). Lord Nelson tea from Lidl is pretty good, it's their own brand, and came second in my taste test. I find that you need 3 bags for a pot for 2 cups. However, Auchan do another brand called Ahmad which to my taste is slightly better and you only need one bag per cup. The other brand that was highly commended was a Portuguese tea from the Acores called Gorreana. I tried several of their loose teas and it was all very acceptable. They also do teabags but I didn't try those. Available on mail order and sent via CTT rather than a courier so the stuff actually arrived. Other brands such as tetley were horrid. I did look into ordering yorkshire or bewley's tea from Ireland which maybe an easier option but didn't take it further.

Wifey is on her way back from Lidl (since that sounds very 70's sitcom, I'd like to point out that normally I do the shopping) with Lord Nelson (black) teabags
If I don't like it I will be regretting my knee-jerk panic order for 500 bags

You're welcome. I suppose many British forget that most Irish also love their black tea and at least it's from EU. Shipping not that cheap either but you don't pay the other charges. Actually find the Gold Blend pretty good.

I did know that, but had forgotten.
Perhaps ordering via amazon will give better rates and is liable to come from Ireland and not UK?
