Such as?

As already said, it is currently under consultation.... but just a clue, at the moment, within the EU, quota is not charged for. This is only one small example of the admin functions that will have to be replicated. People don't like to hear it but it's happening. Very tempted to include it on invoices (once we know the full scale of the costs) as 'Brexit quota surcharge'. At least then customers will know exactly why the cost is being added on.

So you know that the cost is higher than the UK’s current contributions to the EU but you don’t know what that figure will be?

I know that the industry currently does not pay for quota and that as a result of Brexit, the industry will now have to pay for quota to cover increased admin costs. No, I don't know what the surcharge will yet be but I do know that there will be one. As has now already been said TWICE; it is under consultation. I also know that this is merely ONE aspect in one industry that is being affected by Brexit. I don't doubt that there are many other costs to come.

PS One needs to take into account ALL the admin functions that will have to be replicated plus all the implications of trading without our current FTAs. I rather suspect our current contributions are a drop in the ocean.

Just another little point: if Brexit is saving the UK so much money, why is DEFRA consulting over how much to charge and how to implement the charge for quota?
