Well I know in France that if you commit any traffic offence that relates to points the french create a "virtual licence" for you and you then have to apply for a French licence If you do not apply you get a visit from the Gendarmerie.If you are disqualified you have to hand in your UK licence and if for some reason you do not you again get a visit and another fine on top.
