Too much money is wasted through red tape and beaurocracy!
The NHS fails to get rid of incompetent staff, in any other corporate business they would be out on their ear!
One member of staff has been working on a ward in our trust and has been out of numbers on and off for 2 years because he is deemed to be incompetent. He has supposedly gone down the capability route but hey ho! he's still in post, getting paid a nice little wage for doing very little. I happent to think he is playing the system!

we just had mass redundancies of what the management termed "dead wood" and now they are advertising for staff to man extra waiting lists

Hospital near us once made all the staff redundant paid them off then offered them new contracts to return where they didn't get Bank Holiday enhancements etc. was cheaper to do that than keep paying the bank holidays.
