For me the Olympics isnt about only seeing and supporting your own country. It's about the fastest, strongest and best in the world at the various events. We watch the marathon etc to see the best man or woman win, it would be of no disappointment for me if Britain got zero medals quite honestly. The Kiwi coverage doesn't recognise it for the wordly event that it is and can only view it with self interest. The BBC coverage is used around the world so they take a far less biased view.

A big change this year, Prime have 23 hours a day coverage, so they should have a spare hour or two to show some of the non-kiwi stuff.

This time round we have Sky which has made Mr BEVs a very happy man, him being to all things sport.

We're British so we will be cheering for Britain.
Yeah, definitely GB here too, no question. Not having Sky though, I don't think I'm going to see too much of it :-(

That said tv one coverage last time was appalling, often leaving things at crucial points and never returning - both the cycle road races for instance. (Hope Cavendish does the business on saturday).

I notice the beeb are even blocking their i player radio coverage overseas. It seems to be so inconsistent with their radio coverage, often you can listen Test Match Special one day, then the next it's blocked.

Gotta give Danni a thumbs up.
I'll be cheering NZ sportspersons (pc) before Brits. Apparently I now qualify to represent NZ, and have already represented GB, so aiming higher!
Not actually got much interest in the games, but Haze has. Me, I'm just hoping the Sharks win and hoping to go to the Tron next weekend.

Just watching the opening ceremony.

Absolutely amazing! Fell right proud to be British! (Not very often get to feel that)

It took me a while to realise - but we're not watching it in 'real time' on Prime. My Mum in the UK commented on NZ team and we were watching France coming in

That wasn't the point at all. The point was about a good all round coverage of olympic events encompassing all nations taking part. We primarily watch the olympics to watch the games and to finally see the best of the best. NZ TV completely failed in that respect for the 2008 games. It was abysmal. Hopefully it will be more rounded this time.

As I'm British born and bred , I'm proud to be behind GB. Italian fella who has been here for 40 + years is all for .....wait for it ........
Spoiler:
Italy !
What else would one expect. I wouldn't expect any Kiwi living elsewhere around the world to be wanting to feel support for anywhere other than NZ, unless of course, they have a problem with the country of their birth.

Rather hoping that some of the smaller nations & those that have never won any medal do wonderfully well & come away with one.

The coverage of Bejing was dire in that respect. Cut away from some major events before they finished, so that we could see some Kiwi no hope in a first round heat.
The commentary I heard announced that the Kiwi's have more medals per capita than any other country.

Love The Beatles. Have about 30 Vinyl records, several rarish singles, and both the Mono and Stereo remastered boxed sets.
