Flys as big as birds!

No need for sarcasm. I'm guessing my mum's windows must be made of something else, because they don't seem to have any tape on them. The screens just stick there and peel off as if my magic.

Life wouldn't be worth living without a little sarcasm.
"Magnets" - things that stick by magic.

Mine don't have that inside the frames. I tested for that.
I wondered about something steel being countersunk into the corners of the frames. Something that is fitted with the fly screens or comes as part of a kit.

Could be one of the Resene magnetic priming paints...

Alloy of what? ...... Steel is an alloy. Aluminium is an element, when used for window frames, and alloys of aluminium commonly include copper, magnesium, manganese, silicon, zinc, or tin. No iron, so the metal is not magnetic if it is "aluminium", or an aluminum alloy. Window frames are typically an aluminium extrusion, and putting an iron core in that would be an intricate process, and would likely make the windows prohibitively expensive.
I am increasingly intrigued to know what these windows are made of. .... My guess is still that the ones magnets stick to are actually steel and not aluminium at all.

Think more of the coating than the base material. Resene make a base magnetic primer that will enable magnets to stick to plaster board.
