Finally got through on the phone at 4pm (NZ time). Uncle and Aunt's house structually ok but most of the windows smashed and the contents inside were trashed. They live 2 mins drive from the City Centre so that's why they got it so bad. Gisborne a CITY
Strange for me coming from London
Cousin's house - contents strewn around the kid's are shock (poor things think Santa won't be able to come now)
Only one window cracked.
My other cousin is coming up from the South Island to help them tidy up so they will be ok for Christmas as my aunt is disabled.
Just thankful no serious injuries and no deaths.
