So what about the Avos what do people do with those, other than guacamole?

At three for $2 that means there's usually two too many for me. I can't bring myself to do the Kiwi avos and tomatoes on toast thing. So ..... with my two spare ones, what can I do?
That's a tough one as you can't really cook them. My mum used to make something similar to this....

With sliced avocado and tomato on top with dollops of sour cream. It was delish and a way of having them with a hot meal. You could replace the mince with a shredded chicken sauce of some sort.

Oh gawd. Yuk ! I hate quick minute foods . Bleurgh.

Asparagus. Last thing was in a pasta dish. Am over it !

Avocado. Well. TBH ,what on earth do you do with those . If not raw then they are simply not worth it even though they are rather tasty , sliced .

I can't do spiced food and don't do quick crap food so I think I'm onto a loser here.

Indeed, I get what you mean, still on that old Mexican guacamole theme I can't really get beyond. We have the odd mashed up one with chicken fajitas, wraps or a chilli, but after that I am at a loss.

I saw someone in the work lunchroom today, which is often a stomach churning education in itself, they had toast with sliced avo on top and then topped with tinned sardines. Oh my!!

If you take the corn chips out and just serve it on a plate you actually have a very healthy meal.

I believe you but I'd have to remove the chilli beans and mexican tomatoes and I wouldn't put lamb mince with avocado.

That leaves me the raw toms. The sour cream and the avocado.

Maybe you should give us a list of foods you won't eat so we can bear that mind next time!

My mum makes it with beef mince (no beans because I don't like them either), and she chucks in loads of herbs and spices. As I said, spicy chicken would probably work quite well too.

It's can't , not won't , for the most part. Add spicy curry - spicy anything. Chilli stuff. Ginger. Coriander. Ginger Beer . Anything too garlicky and......Pesto. I gave up on pesto last week.

I still wouldn't put lamb mince with avocado though.

There again I wouldn't wrap asparagus in white bread. Stick perfectly good whitebait in an omelette and I wouldn't eat a battered pink thing on a stick. Fussy old tart.

Now, I know you said you wouldn't entertain the idea of avo on toast, but ... avocado spread like butter, some sliced tomatoes and black pepper ... yummy! I currently have a bag of about 30 avos on my benchtop as OH lives on an avo orchard and seems to think that I, and I alone, can work my way through these. I do like them on pizza though, a new thing, sounds odd, but soooo yum.

Haha, I would if I could, have heaps of the bloody things. The having them on pizza is great at the time, not so attractive on cold pizza in the morning, as I've just discovered!

My husband and daughter love sandwiches with avocado, cream cheese and shredded chicken. Or you could always make veggie sushi with red capsicum, avos, and cucumber. I don't like them myself but lately we always seem to have a bag of them in the pantry.

I once heard that if you were to eat only one food in the world for the rest of your life then avodacos would be the best choice because of their wide ranging nutritional value. They still taste yucky and slimey to me though!

Like so many things, fruit especially, there's a very fine line between being under ripe, perfect or stinking and rancid.

I bought my three avos for $2, put one in the fruit bowl and two in the fridge. We ate the first one when it was okay, maybe a bit too hard, then I brought the next one out to ripen and within a day or so it turned way too soft for my liking, I peeled it and it was ewww, yuck, brown and minging. I have brought number three out today and if that one doesn't do it for me, I'll bet it will be another year at least before we see avos again in this house.

Worse still a lot pf the avos that I touched in the shop just made me want to puke. Way too much give in them. Shudders!!

I love avocados, use them in salads. One of my faves is to have poached eggs on toast with smoked salmon(when it's on special) & topped with sliced avocado. Dash of lemon juice & black pepper. Perfect
