Urban sprawl in these cities is second only to the US.

rolleyes: Using your completely inane 'counter argument' a person could compare their commute to London with the fact that they now live in some Middle Codswallop with a poulation of 'not many' and somehow this bolters their argument for a comparo of cities? Why mention Sydney/London at all. back in your box, there's a good chap.

Don't be so patronising - everyone else has managed to respond convivially. Why mention Sydney or London? Ermmm, because they're both massive capital cities with all the infrastructure issues that go along with that. Sorry I couldn't 'bolter' my argument more, perhaps the fact that you appear to be illiterate is the issue.

I thought this was an interesting article on the BBC - compares today's problems with 1990 rather than comparing with the past 10+ boom years.

And here's another thought to bear in mind when raw unemployment numbers are quoted over the coming months. There are about 3 million more people of working age this time than last, and 4.5 million more than in the early 80s recession. If - and it's a big if - the raw numbers are no worse than last time, we'll have done rather better.
