Well last night we went with some friends to the INXS and Simple Minds concert at the WACA. We had a great time dancing, shouting, screaming and whistling. Quite a few people were doing the same but we had a row of people in front of us that quite literally only moved to clap and some of them didn't even do that. Whats that all about eh.

I was standing at westlife so there was a bit of action happening at the front but yes the seated bits were dead as a dodo. The woman in front of me had a cold and sat there with a box of tissues on her lap. It was quite extraordinary.

Today I've had some Formula 1 qualifying (yeh, it's an acquired taste), some Brisbane Lions getting a spanking followed by The Simpsons, Dan Cruicshank doing his 'Around the world in 80 treasures' then, as an alternative to The Bill my OH forced me to watch some Iron Chef (wierd...) and then to round it all off, Rockwiz ... I may even get some Marvin Gaye in on SBS if the mood dictates and I choose not to catch up with The West Wing ... more likely is that I will get some kip.
Tomorrow I am looking forward to the latest Miss Marple.

I just need stronger pills thats all ....
I used to get control of the TV for an hour a week to watch Casualty, but it always seems to clash with something like the 98,000th Invasion of Pearl Harbour now so I can't even be sure I get to see that. Thats why I live on BE!!

I love the Living Channel (sky in NZ), especially the programmes that see people in the UK wanting to buy houses near the sea or in the countryside. I can very vocal pointing out the beautiful scenery and properties. Falls on deaf ears most of the time.
I spend a lot of my evenings on the computer too - escaping to other places.

That made me chuckle... the 98,000th Invasion! I have to wrestle the remote off hubby to save myself from having to sit through Extreme Engineering!!! How dull can you get?

And note I'm back on BE again this evening - it was that or watch a tour through the Ferrari factory. Oh the choices in life!

Just had a very British invite - 20 minutes notice, lets go for a drink! Yeah! Shades of my old do-it-now lifestyle....so we leap off to the pub (3 Expats, Bloke can't cope without a weeks notice of such events) and guess what - cos its 7pm on a Sunday evening in the Smart State of Queensland.....the pub is shut! God give me strength. Its 2007 FFS, not 1907!
Managed a couple of beers while the guys behind us threatened each other with various types of abuse, and pondered on another eternal Qld problem of a lack of daylight saving....if they inrtroduced it here, would it cause the feathers of the parrots to fade?
(now back at the house in front of BE while Pearl Harbour is still burning in the distance...... )

Just wondering what you lot do for entertainment in the evenings?
In the week hubby usually doesn't get home until 7.30ish and he's knackered. So it's usually snuggle up on the sofa and click......but we are both so damn bored of watching movies every night. The t.v is abysmal as we all know.
I could go and read a book, but my whole day is spent with my head in books/journals/reports/paperwork so I don't do that in term time.
We could play a game. O.k, I will admit to liking the odd game of scrabble but not every flipping night.
We could talk, yes that's nice but as I said, hubby is knackered and not really up for in depth meaningful chin-wags!
What else is there? Oh, and keep it clean!!!

Its dark at 5.30pm cold windy and apart from the last few days its been rainning for months !!.
Weekends turn up and we may grab a few hours doing the garden i dont know why we bother as we only get to sit in it and enjoy it a couple of months of the year
We may go up the town woo hooo shopping exciting isnt it !! Same shops in all the towns small shops forced to close so no matter what town you go they are all the same .. Mobile phones .WH Smiths-Woolworths-Boots etc..
Hardly exciting week after week ?
So normally Middle age people sit indoors hibernating in front of the telly , how sad is that now thats sadder than your sad for sure
Thats why i am leaving before i rot in the chair ! Need to get to a place where life runs longer than a few months in the summer
