do rather like the super SnS, get to pre-order your sliced meats and then pick 'em up at the counter...and nice collection of cheese...though Wholefoods has a really nice, dare I say it, Australian cheddar, a pound for $3 the other day

The only places I've found with a good choice of cheeses around here, I can't afford to buy a lot.

Shaws in the NE also have a good range of Brit stuff. Trader Joe's have crumpets and pretty good own brand butter. TJ yoghurts are tasty too. I just nipped over the border to Quebec yesterday to get a load of croissants, bread, pate, cheese, jam and butter for a pig out brekkie...and stock up on Cadbury's at the Duty Free.

As for Cadbury's .... it used to taste just like Hersheys in Cadbury wrappers, ... Now it tastes exactly like Cadbury's always did, so they seem to have got it right at last.

I just have to point out that cheese is not cheap in Britain. To stock up on all the ones you just mentioned would cost you half a weeks pay.

Just enough to keep one cheese freak going for a week.
Its tough to do that here. The only places I can buy those cheeses sell them by the wheel. Plenty of places to buy french and italian by the oz.

I used to walk up and down the cheese aisle in Tesco's drooling over the wonderful selection they have but the prices would really put me off. Cheese is one of my favourite foods so it's tough having to ration yourself.

I'll get into trouble too, I went to Wegmans in Downingtown PA. Spent many dollars on not too much stuff. The place is dauntingly large. I didn't get to the food court or deli sections, The produce/ green grocery section was huge, the first thing I noticed were fresh figs, never seen before on this side.
I get some good cheese from Genuardi's, a local chain that was bought by Safeway and has gone down hill ever since. I get an aged farmhouse chedder that tastes wonderful and bites back. Under the same label, they also have Red Leicester, Double Gloucester and Wensleydale. Thet have Huntsman sometimes.
I should go to a cheese shop in Swarthmore, there they will cut the amount you want and it's local ownership.

A 3 hour drive, but oh so worth it if you're there for other reasons. Hershey's Cadbury has improved? I bet it still has corn syrup in it tho?
