Somewhere To Belong

I don't want to put a spanner in the works but am pretty sure it's run by Farah Fawcet.
She insists everyone wears drainpipe trews and dance to pipe music.
Bit of a task master by all accounts and many feel flushed afterwards.

[QUOTE=Fleaflyfloflum;6914064]For sometime now, both in England and here, I have been thinking about how to make new friends and sort of belong to something when i return to UK.
I do have a few issues in deciding, or indeed, finding something to suit me.
Here are my basic requirements
1. Must not be religious in anyway as I am agnostic
Hi flea, ave been reading of your wooes and sending lots of cyber hugs.
Am not religious either, but i couldnt care wot religion my friends are, i think of the friends i have made here now and i could not tell you of which religion any of them belong, not an issue for me.

Hi Lorna. Thank you
I should have made that clearer. I dont mind at all if my new friends have religious beliefs of any kind. What i meant was, i do not want to join a church community or anything that worships a god as i would feel a complete hypocrite going there just to meet friends

Can I go back to the choir suggestion ?
I joined one in September - and it's been lovely. It's something I fancied doing for years. It's just adult time - purely for me. Nothing religious, though we are learning two Christmassy songs at the mo!
I've also started studying a bit of 'orticulture. A short local course to get my hands dirty (though it's a tad chilly in my bit of the world at the mo) - but it's nice to think about next summer and plotting my plot! Something very calming about growing stuff, especially if you can eat it

I am a big time garden person. In fact I completed 2/3 of a HND in horticulture years ago, but had to give it up when I split from my ex.
I was already intending to get into gardens and creating my dream patch of earth.
Australias complete lack of interest in creating beautiful gardens was a big disappointment to me. Sure, you get the very odd one that has made an effort, but in general they dont seem to give a toss.

What about the National Trust or Wildlife Trust. Not sure if that's your thing.
Or one of those volunteer tour guides who go round stately homes or places of interest.

I am already 5ft 9 big shoes make me look like the jolly green giant!!Anway, I have always wondered how these women with big knckers negotiate those poles. I mean, if you get that stuck in your cleavage and slide down you will get the equivalent of arpet burns!!
