We'll see what happens. Of course the water board decided to dig on the road leading to ours. :banghead: I hope the truck can get past.
I didnt know the UK was into Water Boarding... lol... |

Already? Is there going to be a Christmas special like last year? If so, I hope they don't have any more nasty surprises planned.
Must say that after the shocker a few weeks back, they haven't been too sensationalist but I do feel that the stories are being tweaked just to satisfy the American audience. http://www.radiotimes.com/news/2013-...e-going-to-die |

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX I honestly think film and TV critics have a mean streak - why else would they drop spoilers into their articles? Bloody tossers. |
Re: Over 40's Moving Back and Catching Up
I am a member of netflix and I have been watching the first two episodes of season one of leverage staring Timothy Hutton, I loved it!!! never seen one before, it said that season one started in 2008, I was still in America then, it must have escaped me, anyone know if its still going over there, I just love it how big movie stars in the U.S. ping pong from the big screen to the smaller screen like they do :)

Speaking of TV shows. The second season of Last Tango in Halifax starts this month on BBC 1. I really enjoyed the first season, so I am looking forward to the next installment.

Leverage is a great little series, we really enjoyed it, most of it was shot in Portland Oregon although they act like its set on the East coast... I think there were 5-6 seasons, Sadly it has now finished... Have you ever watched the British show called Hustle, its a similar type of show, give it a look after you've finished watching Leverage... |

I've just started watching this program and also do enjoy it so glad they are making some more. Our Downton Abbey new series opens on 5th Jan yippee. As to it being popular, my sister in Cape Town have just finished ep 3 and her friend had a 50'th birthday bash as "Downton Abbey" dinner and dress up. the Photos were fantastic, everyone either bought clothes (retro stores) or hired something to wear and my sis said that granny's tea set and silverware finally came in handy :D

Reading a book by Julian Fellowes called "snobs" an amusing little book - he certainly knows about the "toffs"

Re: Over 40's Moving Back and Catching Up
Hi everyone, its me Charleygirl that was! Sorry not been here for some time..just had a quick read of a few posts.. I hope everyone is well. Those that remember me will know i moved back to UK 2 years ago now.. its been great and I have no complaints about anything..not really. I have had to have some Physical therapy to my neck and the service I got was great and very fast.. got in 5 days after I went to docs.. I have no complaints at all about NHS even though I live in a big city with big Hospital, no complaints and my mum got fantastic care all the time..
My reason for being here though is to let all who know me know that I am moving back to the USA, I go on Dec 5th, not an easy or happy choice in many ways. I would love to be able to stay here but I have 3 children who although 21 x2 and 22, so not exactly young, we have all had a hard time of missing each other. I am very scared about going back.. life here has just got easier for me, I get my pension and a small private pension so was only working 15 hours a week. I will be going back to full time and with lots of challenges I guess. But I am glad I did this and have had a wonderful two years although filled many times with sadness at the difficulties it brought my children. I think I will have more time when I am back there to read on here and get caught up. I wish you all well and may your dreams come true!! |
Re: Over 40's Moving Back and Catching Up
Lestergirl/Charleygirl,
Lovely to hear from you and get an update. I wish you all good things for your return to the US. I'm sorry that you have been torn between the two worlds of the UK and US. I can understand how strong the pull is to be near your children. Please keep updating and letting us know how the move back goes. |
Re: Over 40's Moving Back and Catching Up
