Bunting? Really? How, uh, very Silver Jubilee of 1977.

I would kill for a dinner suit cut like that. Either one.

That Phil the Greek is as mad as a fruit-bat. He'd laugh at anything.

I really don't think that the Silver Jubilee celebrations of 1977 would have included any American bunting at all.

You should have stated clearly that you were there to attend one of the daily services at Paul's, such as Evensong, usually held at around 15:30hrs. You'd have been admitted without charge I feel sure, but I would not have thought there'd have been an admittance charge to St Paul's in the first place as they have squillions of visitors passing through the doors each year anyway and the glass offertory boxes all around the Cathedral seem to have plenty of coins and notes inside them, not to mention the other sources of income such a high profile edifice of its kind receives, but that's London for you, I reckon.

I love everything about my periods of time spent working down in London except for the huge expense involved in spite of the additional increments I am paid for doing it! But it's worth it. I really do spend a lot of my time in London smiling quite happily - except on the tube journey to and from work.

One of the UK's national daily newspapers somewhat unkindly suggested that the most noteworthy thing Barack Obama achieved during his visit to London was the cool way he flipped burgers at the barbie.

It annoys me how so many embassies refuse to pay the congestion charge on the grounds that it's a "tax". Are British diplomats exempt from paying tolls on the NJ Turnpike, Lincoln Tunnel, etc? I don't really see what the difference is.

If a diplomat didn't pay before entering the turnpike, there is nothing New Jersey could do just like New York can't do anything about the $18 million in parking fines owed by UN diplomats.

In fact DSK may have been able to use diplomatic immunity for his rape charge if he was in New York on official business but since he was not on official business, he can be prosecuted. There have been diplomats that could not be charged with murder or manslaghter due to diplomatic immunity.

We just didn't go. I think my favorite part of London was visiting pubs near Fleet St.
