Don't you just have to say you are going in to pray, or attend evensong, .. or maybe crawl from cathedral to cathedral on your knees, dressed in rags, with someone whipping you with a cat-o'-nine-tails... claim you saw a vision, & are atoning for your sins.. you could make out like a bandit and get in free to the lot of them!!
