Default Moving back to Yorkshire!

We are in the process of moving back to Yorkshire after 18months in Canada - can't wait!! Can anyone tell me if you need to complete a 'Goods to Follow' list similar to the one needed for coming here in the first place?

This is my first time posting on the 'Moving back' forum! I am an avid reader though!!

Hi there

AFAIK there is no need for a Goods to Follow list but hopefully someone else can confirm that.

Anyway just wanted to say hi and be a little nosey and ask where in Canada are you and why are you moving back? I've been in Canada for over 8 years and hope to move back in mid-july if someone would just buy our house.

Hi Elaine

We are in Heidelberg, a village just north of Kitchener/Waterloo. We too are trying to sell our house - it's one thing I will really miss as it's gorgeous! We are looking at flights on 13th July - just waiting for the dog space to be confirmed. We hope th house sells before we go if not we will just leave it. Don't think we'll make a profit so our lawyer will make sure the govt doesn't hold onto too much!

Regards
Nikki

Hi Nicola

Small world - we are moving back to Sheffield too!!! We've got a house rented in Whirlow, had to take it from now as it was the only one in the whole area for rent. We used to live round there and our kids friends are all in the area too. We like Canada but just don't love it enough to commit the rest of our lives to it. I also miss Radio 2, crispy duck, hiking in Derbyshire and decent TV!!!!!

Where abouts are you?

Nikki

Now you and Nicola are both making me jealous, we are hoping to head back to Sheffield in a few years! Although just booked flights for our month long visit in July so am looking forward to getting back to the Yorkshire way of things and hearing everyone calling each other "love"!

Yes, Meadowhall is wonderful. The range of shops here is pitiful - Toronto is pretty good though.

We've managed to confirm the flights and shippers today so July 13th we're out of here!!! Mental note to self - must start packing - but as it's sunny today might just have a glass of wine with a good book in the garden

Definitely, I think there is a Costa Coffee on Fargate now, then a mooch round John Lewis, what do you say girls?

Nicola, did you have any luck sorting schools out?

Hi Emily

Actually its an even smaller world than you think. We used to live in Dore then moved to Beauchief but the boys went to Dore Primary well one of them did the other was still in First Steps. We are moving back to Dore to get the Primary school again, like you I would like to go back to the old friends and the mums I knew. Plus all OH family live in Ecceleshall. Meadowhall, gosh what can I say about that place, but love it. If you think the shopping in bad in Canada try Australia. Crap quality huge prices. Hubby calls it Meadowhell but who cares. When I was pregnant you could blindfold me and put me in any of the shops and I could sniff out which one I was in, weird but true.

I love Whirlow we used to take them up to the Whirlow Hall Farm for the festival. I have been considering moving there or Bents Green or Parkhead for Silverdale but really need to sort out the primary school first.

We could all meet up in Startbucks on Eccie Road you know. Its where the old hairdresser was I think Headlines.

Like you Aus is ok sometimes but it isnt a patch on Sheffield.

Good luck

NIcola
