What about the OU?

What about a SCITT (SCHOOL CENTRED INITIAL TEACHER TRAINING) They were just starting up when I left the UK back in 2001 so I am not sure whether they are still around or not and whether they would be able to take your completed studies into account though.

Couldn't agree more.

If the OU offers what you are looking to complete, I would totally recommend the option. I did a year on an undergrad management degree a while back, and for distance learning (I have done other ones) I thought the course and support was fantastic. You will also have timing flexibility.

I didnt have to look at credit issues, but given the nature of the insititution I would wager they are more open to offer it than traditional universties.

It may not be ideal, but, given how much you want to be home, and not wanting to pass up the other opportunites that have appeared it could well resolve your problem.

Ok, probably not do-able, and quite unsettling (but must be less than now?)but how about trying for say Cardiff or Bristol for courses and renting ?

Well, news from my uni this morning; looks like they are condensing the course next year, so it won't be a full year. Yippppeeee!!

We also had our house valued on Monday and the agent reckons the market is crap at the mo and our house has gone down a little from a year ago. he reckons 6 months and it will start picking up again. Best bet is to stay here, get my uni done, get some more value on the house and then go. Seems a lifetime away though even though it is only maybe 14 months.

Then again...I MAY fall in love with QLD and bugger off there!!!! ;)

Thanks for the ideas though guys

We have had ours valued and our ptting it on the market this weekend:blink: Agents said seen as we got about 6 months we should be ok, price wise we are still getting a good price even though its dropped , so hopefully we should be ok.

Anyone fancy a 5 bed with a pool???:p

P.S. So you gonna stay now Tracey???

Certainly not in Perth, that's for sure. Unless QLD completely rocks my little world when I go over, we won't be going there either!!!;) Hubby lives in hope though.

No I mean for the next few months or so???

Re: Fate's kicking in again!

It's too complicated to go back now;

1) my uni course is difficult to transfer and if I do leave now, uni's in the UK may not recognise the units I have completed.
2) not enough money from the house yet. Need to make just a bit more to be able to go back and buy outright. Where we want to live...small villages....there aren't many rentals, and the ones that are there are ridiculous prices.
3) have no savings to speak of to pay for the move so we would have to dig into the equity in the house = less money back in the UK.

Even though my heart is screaming to get back, I have to try to be practical and do this logically. Hubs doesn't really want to go back at all, as you know, so I have to make the move back there as painless as possible for him. That way, we avoid a lot of rows.

Mmm know how you feel, we havent got savings either so need to sell for as much as we can!!! My Dad decided to move to Wales (I think at mo) so told G maybe we could get over there, but dunno about jobs?? Head spinning at mo, L has decided she wants out NOW!!! Huh told her she cant as passport invalid at mo, gonna keep her here for a while longer (if I dont strangle her before:mad: )

Catch up soon xx
