We are retiring back to UK not looking for jobs but my daughter 40 and grandaughter 18 coming back with us.How long do they have to be in UK Scotland before they qualify for Jobseekers allowance unemployment etc.My daughter runs her own tattoo studio and plans to open one up over there.I have explained all the pros and cons and just want to see if she will have some sort of safety net..............

I assume they're both UK citizens as well, so no need for visas? Is your granddaughter planning on working or studying?

Eligibility
To be eligible for ‘new style’ Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA) you’ll need to have both:- worked as an employee
- paid Class 1 National Insurance contributions, usually in the last 2 to 3 years (National Insurance credits can also count)
