Dont take it so personally Snappy!! Just open your eyes a little & listen to both sides before you start mouthing off. Stay happy

I have never spoken to anyone on the Adelaidebrits site that have just said how wonderful the place is, all of them give honest opinions and that includes the BAD points about the place. I suggest you have another look at the site and then try typing the facts rather than the rubbish that seems to have overcome you.
A post recently including the fact that one of the main manufacturing companies are pulling out of Adelaide so it IS mentioned. Other couples who have found it hard as some Aussies won't employ them due to the fact their qualifications aren't recognised out in oz no matter what the assessment agencies say have also put up posts on this matter. Other couples who just find it isn't for them have also put up posts as to why it wasn't suitable for them - all these posts help people who are moving out to Adelaide get more of the real picture.
I have listened to both sides and I can see why you moved back from oz as it wasn't for you but like MM said are the 1 million odd people in Adelaide just living in a dream world???? Show a bit of respect and realise that just as it didn't work out for you it doesn't suit everyone some people love it and others hate it .... that's life and that's what makes us all so different.
There's no need for you to put down such a great site that is full of information and support.

I forgot to add I am certainly not a troll and I'm certainly not ignorant. Try to lay off the personal insults and try posting something that is worth reading.

Taj Mahal maybe,
Hanging gardens of Babylon perhaps?
Or herds of Wilderbeast sweeping majestically across the plain.

Sorry Snappy, just realised that, having posted 1400 odd messages on a site with a total of 11000 (ie almost 13% of all posts), you might well have taken personally what I said!!

I do hope that you also took the time and checked out what the site is really like rather than just checking up on me!

Wow - never expected the Spanish Inquisition.
Wish I'd not posted my message in the 1st place.
One of the nicest things about going to OZ and returning is that I am far more content and have learned some valuable life-lessons. If you look back over my early posts, I too was angry with Britain and dismissive of those who thought it wa better here than Australia. But, having now got the high ground that experience brings, I can be more laid back.
Adelaide, to me is just about the best city in the world to live, in terms of physical attributes. The balance and layout of CBD, ringed by parks, ringed by suburbs, ringed by hills is superb. Colonel Light certainly did have a vision! (live there and you'll understand the pun).
But it wasn't for us, for a number of good and personal reasons. If anyone is genuinely interested, I am happy to tell and discuss these, when I get time.
A word on the Brits picnic in Belair National Park which seems to have sparked the on-line fight, above. We only went once just to see, in November time, I think. Yes we could have made more of an effort, but you have to imagine the scene. There were probably 100 people in small groups of 3 0r 4 having picnics, like in any park. It was not clear who was Brits and who was not (it wan't a private party). Short of asking at each table / blanket "I'm a Pom - will you be my friend?" there was no way of "integrating"
Thats what I meant by clickish. We met up with our friends (Mashiraz and family) for a BBQ intstead.
Clubs are clubs with the usual presence of bitching, backbiting and slaggin-off sessions (as this thread aptly demostrates) so we were'nt too interested in going again.
I am more disappointed in the barrage of abuse traded in this, my thread, than before and I have decided to "POST NO MORE"
Good luck to all of you wanting a new life. Good luck to all of you re-discovering your former life.

First of all, Sundarize dont go. Its me that poked the wasps nest so if anyone has to go it will be me. Its given me the excuse to go cold turkey on the site anyway!
I would also like to point out that I wasnt personal about anyone on the other site, in fact there are many lovely, genuine people who post on it who have been very supportive . Likewise I have tried to be as helpful as I can too. There may be one or two who are manipulative & dont like it when things dont go there own way but each to their own.
I want to point out too that Snappy doesnt know me as she stated; she may have replied to one of my posts but she has never met me. Same with PP, who I noticed was the first person to mention my name. Thanks PP.
So there you go. At least it gave you all something to talk about for a couple of days. No hard feelings to any of you I have met, I wasnt directing my opinions at you.

Don't anyone goooooooooooooooooooo...hey we don't all have to see eye to eye ok. We would be like this perhaps if we all sat around a table and chatted.
I hope no-one was pointed out OK..what I meant was we are all happy to hear what others have to say..well we should be and even if we don't agree does it matter.!! we all have such different experiences, backgrouds etc...what I don't like are personal attacks and I'm sure a few of us can relate to that but come on please don't anyone go......Angelica don't go...stay and post like we all do.!!Sundarize too......just try again eh !!

I don't think you should stop posting if you feel you have something to say.
It is too easy for the internet to give people the chance to 'have a go' at others.
On all sites there seem to be 'cliques' of people and this is probably because they post so often they feel they 'know' each other.
We can all be guilty of this.
I dislike the kind of intersite rivalry that sometimes happens and have posted so on other sites.
Carry on as I am sure you can be of help to many of us.
Best wishes
