Great news to report from the UK, we are out of the double dip recession, with growth of 1% plus unemployment has dropped by 50,000 and even better news, inflation has plummeted from over 5% not long back, to just 2.2%.

Say what you like about the Daily Mail, but they do come up with some stunning photographs. Ignore the text, just enjoy the pics.

Well I hope the cold weather and snow has all moved away by 18th Dec when we will be flying through Heathrow to Cape Town!

Britain is one of the greatest countries on earth, one of the most humble societies in which people will generally mind their own business and are proud of working class roots.

There are a huge number of wonderful things about this country, some prefer to see only negatives but that is their problem. Not everyone thinks the weather is miserable, looking at the weather and the problems it is causing back in Australia it looks far more miserable.

Weather the world over has it's ups and downs, at any given time you can find horrible weather somewhere but one thing you can count on is drizzle, clouds and rain in the UK in the winter time.

I love the UK and can not wait to make it my home, that said Chris after just returning from 15 days there, winter is miserable, we had a grand total of 3 days of SUN out of 15 and 2 of those days were partly cloudy.

I haven't felt like it's constant, but what I have found is that the grey drizzly days are also the mild ones. It's been lovely and sunny the last few days but the temperature has also dropped a lot. I like the variation though compared to NY where it was usually very cold and sunny every day with the occasional big snow storm.
The mild weather here means that we have cherry blossoms starting, and forsythia in bloom and buds on all the trees. I love that as I found January to March a real grind in America.
