50,000AED for membership of a beach club...fair enough if you want to spend that kind of money, but really only the Dubai shallow tosspots will be remotely impressed.

exactly what i said, this place lauds itself on it's own achievements,the whole scenario of that 50,000 AED beach club membership is one of the reasons that this place has imploded big time.

They'll never learn and the people who pay it are probably some of the same people who are doing runners and knocking people for money.

Dubai has an unsustainable economy that has been brought to it's knees by greed.

no, the facilities there are really fab...there are a few different beaches there, plus all the sports facilities (gym, tennis courts, squash, classes etc), the pools are great and there is a really, really good kids club etc...it is the best beach club in dubai, if that's what you are looking for rather than a public beach...

and yeah, there is a wait list, although i don't imagine it's very long now...

oh aye different beaches, 1 of which is in the marina bit so the water stinks of marine diesel, 1 mobbed by the burj and 1 ****ing miles from said facilities. the pools are pools, hardly fab and certainly not inspired in design.
my main gripe about the place is and always has been the punters it attracts, either holidaying footballers, sunburnt chavs, russian mobsters with their tarts or people daft enough to pay 50k just to be seen and surrounded by said tosers.

Your right about the sports facilities they're very good but it's still extortionate though.
The hotels crap though, gaudy and tacky with sky high tariffs, a bit like Dubai really.
