Shia Mosques

Re: Shia Mosques
Not just Hazarat Hussein, but almost 100 of his immediate family were massacred.
"Zaynab bint Ali quoted as she passed the prostrate body of her brother, Husayn. " O Muhammad! O Muhammad! May the angels of heaven bless you. Here is Husayn in the open, stained with blood and with limbs torn off. O Muhammad! Your daughters are prisoners, your progeny are killed, and the east wind blows dust over them." By God! She made every enemy and friend weep."

Re: Shia Mosques
Ok I know this is probably a long shot in what I'm about to ask, given that this is a brit expat forum and all, but i figured those of you who may have lived in Dubai for a number of yrs, and are familiar with the two main Islamic sects ie Sunni & Shia, might know - does anyone know of any shia mosques in dubai...if so could you please let me know the location/s.
Cheers

But what does it matter, bottomline you have to face Makkah. And by the way when I was in Makkah in times of prayers......shia/sunnis all prayed together.
The differences are political not religious.

No such thing as a Shia mosque, its an "imam barga". Ask anyone who is from Bahrain or even Pakistan, (some) they can point you to the direction.

The main difference between a shia and a sunni is the lineage of succession after the Prophet passed away and hence why Moharram is EXTREMELY important to shia's as oppose to sunnis and hence why i asked specifically for shia mosques, since sunnis dont observe Moharram in the same manner.

Dude, yes all muslims pray towards mecca and comply with the 5 pillars of islam but thats where the similarities between a sunni and shia begin and end.

Shi-ites mourn. In ISLAM you cant mourn for more than 3 days !. Those that have been matyred for Islam remember them in your prayers, but dont go around spilling your own blood.
Though I have to admit that Sunnis attempt to play it down regarding the Islamic historical events and dont emphasise the significance and importance of the circumstances. However we must not forget that on Moharram Muslims KILLLED Muslims. There were no kaffurs involved.
I find that there is alot of corruption in the information about this particular event. Who faced more hardship than the Prophet Muhummad ?.

Not true, sunnis fast, and read the quran, and pray during Moharram.

As to the blood shedding, yes i agree that some people do take it to an extreme, but each to their own.
Whether you agree or not, sunnis do NOT observe Moharram with the same importance as Shias do, thats a fact.
As to no non-muslims being involved, thats debateable because to some Yazid was pretty much a non-muslim, hence why Imaam Hussein refused to pay allegiance to him because of the way Islam at the time was being practiced.

Look it up - it's considered derogatory, with links to the word "peasant", "rejector' or "ingrate". It's not the same as neutral words like "unbeliver" is it?
A number of muslim scholars discourage it's use as the koran commands the use of kind words...it is even punishable to use this word against people of the book under islamic law. Only extremists use this word to describe non-muslims.
To me it is another example of how some religions polarise humanity into believer and disbeliver...and then come up with all sorts of special words to describe the infidels. As long as we have this sort of word play we will have some thinking they are better or superior simply because of what they believe.

Re: Shia Mosques
In the Arabic Language, a non muslim is defined as a "Kaffur" I dont know of any word that can be used. Anyway why the sensitivity? are you gonna make up a story of your own and then start preaching about what it should be or shouldnt be ? just the way alot of non muslims tell muslims what the Quran says rather than hearing it from the horses mouth. And then when muslims attempt to put it right with the Arabic lingustic context, they dismiss it in ignorance and no matter what explainations you put forward, NOPE, they are right and you are wrong.
What frustrates me even more is those non muslims who dont know anything about islam, havent even read much, and then firing loaded questions, with no real sincerity in trying to underrstand the reasoning and answers.

so who composed the defination it and unilaterally decided that "Kaffur" is a derogatory term? was it some michael or david or someone who doesnt know anything about islam or someone who thinks they have the right to legitmatize there opinon.
Everyone has a right to believe in whatever they chose and equate it to being superior, who the hell wants to believe in something which is inferior.
And extremists? well the IRA was a extreme christian organistion, nobody ever went to the extent of scrutinsing there religion or what words they use. In fact bombing the UK for 30 years and conducting a terror campaign, I still cant believe people in the UK chose christainty as there religion. Christians can even have there own schools and when the notion of a muslim school arises everyone takes out there guns.
It seems like one rule for one and another rule for another. Double standards.......
What's next...........bringing democracy to Saudi Araba.........well lets focus on China, Russia who are the forgotten ones.

Re: Shia Mosques
Am not an apologetic muslim, I sometimes use the term "Kaffur" loosely if am referring to a non muslim. If people who DONT understand nor speak the language and take sensitivity on stupid words, well then that is just going a bit too far.
