But that's not as snappy a strapline for the road safety campaigns ;) 5km/h is just as much "speed" as 160km/h. Speed itself is not inherently dangerous, otherwise more people would be killed in aeroplanes than any other form of transit in the world! There are plenty of places where driving at 160km/h would be safe, just as there are plenty of places where 5km/h would be stupidly fast. As far as the UK is concerned, for example, I support higher speed limits on motorways and a mandatory 20mph in residential areas. good point well made have some k |

You all are a bunch of ****ing tools. When people resort to bashing someone for their views it just decreases their line of argument and shows it as flawed. Well done all... |
Re: Killer road
Interesting debate, and some good arguments from both sides. Could you cut out the swearing a bit though, its just taken half an hr to edit the thread and i've better things to be doing on a thursday morning like doing jigsaws, playing with trains, play dough....etc...etc..etc
Cheers TS |

Have to agree with TA5's view that the abusive approach doesn't lend itself to sound reasoned argument, so let's try a little logic, shall we?
To save 15 minutes by driving at 160 instead of 120, you would have to drive 120 KM (which would take an hour at 120 or 45 mins at 160). So, either TA5 takes a very unusual route from the Marina to Sharjah, which would kind of defeat the object of driving like a tw@ Or, he's just not very good at maths. If instead he goes the same route the rest of us would go, which I would estimate is at most 50 KMS, then he would save 6 minutes and 15 seconds, which he could spend reminding all the other kids in his class how much of a hero he is. |
Re: Killer road
I have just started driving this week from int 1 (defence r/a) to jebel ali village (??? int) What a f***ing nightmare - used to only have a 15 minute round trip on the school run - god my nerves are in pieces. This morning I even got beeped by a bloody police motorbike in the o/side lane whilst travelling at 140k :o :) to move over to let him through. FFS why couldn't he pass on the hard shoulder on a bike if necessary as it involved me breaking to move over and then slamming brakes on to keep down to speed of next lane. But decided best not argue with them!!! Anyway once he had passed me he then weaved right through traffic and came off at next junction T****R!!!!!!!!!!

How fast do i need to go before i create a rift in the space/time continium?? I want to go really fast, create a wormhole and travel back in time. I lost my house keys this morning and i know i had them last night, so if anyone can help me with tearing the space/time fabric so i can go back to last nite id be really happy |

Re: Killer road
I suspect TA5 is aiming that at me. So having advised us all that abusive replies diminish our arguments, and when I then present a reasoned argument she then replies with an invitation to some reasonably intimate bodily contact. Tends to suggest she might be having her period right now. Having said that, not averse to a bit of bum-tonguing if she's a looker, but kind of concerned she might be under 16, in which case i'll have to pass.

Re: Killer road
I believe I've found the PERFECT car for TA5.
It's got lots of power and plenty of room for 'the boys'. :D
