They don't tend to stop tonnes of people for no reason. Much like 'codeine tracey', the bit that she never mentioned was that she came to the attention of the authorities after she was escorted off the plane for (allegedly) having a fight with a fellow passenger and steward and generally causing all kinds of mayhem.

There are certain banned prescription drugs in the UAE,” Reynolds says. “Before visitors board the plane they should contact the UAE authorities which have an extensive list of banned substances. Check the web sites, because the list can change overnight.

Re: Four years!
The chances of you being stopped are pretty slim (unless you're acting suspiciously) in my experience.
I do not know one single person who has ever been stopped by customs...

I've had the bags searched in Aus and US - never in Dubai and I've probably gone through that airport more than any other in the world...

this DJ person signed contract from the Agent here, it stated clearly in the contract that drugs and porn etc were not acceptable in the UAE, he knew the score but I think he felt he was above the law. In the early 90's I used to get every bleedin video taken off me and had to go back the next day to get them back! I bet they had great fun watching Eastenders!
