I bet he is but "I didn't know I had it" is hardly a defense and he did get the minimum sentence. Drugs and pornography- does he really have no idea about the Middle East?

Ooouch... 4 years is *really* harsh for what in the UK is a Class C drug. Yes, rules are rules and I have some sympathy for maintaining the relatively "drug free" society in the UAE - but surely they could just ban the guy for life & deport him??? That would be enough to put most people off testing the system...

I imagine you're right but it's a very arbitary way of going about things... and the poor guy will be sat in a cell with the uncertainty of when he may or may not be released.

oh gosh! my hubbie has one of those "i porn" t shirts - u know that classic white sillouette of person with a ipod but in this case wearing an ipod and doing some erm.. naughty things.. i guess thats going in the charity bin before we move then..
