Poor service on Emirates is not the cause of their problems it is a symptom.

They started off so well but seem to be resting on their laurels now. I must admit i didn't have very good flights with them last year. I had to go back from Hong Kong to Glasgow twice in August and was very uncomfortable in the hard, upright seats and poor food. I am over 6' tall and had real issues about the people in front of me putting their seats all the way back.
There was also a big difference in the HKG-DXB sector over the DXB-GLA sector as well- to/from Glasgow was more like a charter flight off eedjits going to Ibiza.

I would like to continue flying them as they sponsor an America's cup yacht.

Flying BA direct from HKG to UK this year- wills ee what that's like. When Virgin started flying direct to Hong Kong it certainly put the cat amongst the pigeons and, as a result, other airlines are better priced and better serviced.

Well I've just got back from UK with Emirates this morning and couldn't fault the service from check-in to landing :)

Virgin to Hong Kong is good, BA to Hong Kong is great but only if you're in club.

Cathay Pacific to Hong Kong is the way to go.

I suppose that when we get Free tickets, discounted tickets etc, we really dont have too much to complain about.... :D
