Gareth you could probably do some voluntary work?

I don't find the time here in Dubai, I feel guilty too, especially as many in family in India are involved in doing a lot of charity work/ some voluntary work or the the other.

My granduncle returned from the US, quit his job at Unilever and then along with my grandaunt adopted a village in India I hope to do some work there whenever I return to India.....

One of the frustrating things (although for sound reasons that I can understand) is how hard it is to set up a proper charity here. I looked into it a while back.

How long for the novelty to wear off? 4 days before I even get there !!! Stopping off on the way to Perth, booked a room in the Chelsea Towers, then they email me " that price didnt include the 100% surcharge for Iranian Newyear"... after many emails it appears that there is a surcharge for the ' spectacular views the hotel offers of the Iranian coast'....from the 6th floor!! So book into Rihab hotel on website...until I email them to confirm booking to find its full, even though I have booking reference Everywhere seems booked up due to Iranian Newyear & Dubai horse race thing !!
How comfy is the airport to sleep in?:curse:

What exactly is it about Sharjah that is so bad??? Where moving to Dubai in Sept, so a head's up would be great.

I have got involved recently with the Downs Syndrome Association of the Middle East, which at our wedding, instead of favours, we donated the money to this worthy and personal cause to my family.

If there is a charity close to your heart, you may well find it here if you look hard enough

There is a thread started about Sharjah.

Its cheaper than dubai to live there, but if you work in Dubai, stand by for hours of commuting each day

Is that like ARSE! as in a Father Jack-style outburst, or is it ARSE! as in YOU ARE AN ARSE?

I'm guessing it's the latter. But hey, I'm still laughing at that bit about spoiling your day by the pool. That was a joke, right?
