Sorry if I sound prudish.
you can't be serious...wear a short skirt and you're going to get raped?????

I wouldn't walk around in mini skirts myself (though maybe thats cos my 40 year old ass ain't as pert as it once was!) but raped for showing a bit of flesh!!!! Men don't just see some skin and think 'I'm having it whether she likes it or not'. The most they would probably do is stare, and if you can handle that then you're fine, then, if it affected them that much, they would probably have a quick wank when they got home .

Opposite ends of spectrum here- or the ridiculius to the extreme.

I really don't understand why someone would wish to antagonise Abu Dhabians by walking around in tiny shorts- tis just a blatant disregard for the
place and everything it holds dear. Disrespectful and bordering on the ignorant imho.

As for naked flesh attracting rapists- is that Anne of Greengables world??
Hysteria, overeaction, misinformation.

Abu dhabi this is.
Do you get a kick watching all the Indian workers staring at her!!!

The are so many Asian men on single status in the UAE (labourers) that it is very uncomfortable being stared at and feeling as though you are being undressed by these men because they have never seen a white or fair skinned woman before.

Respectable women in Dubai are fed up being propositioned anywhere and everywhere because young women walk about dressed in tiny short shorts and tight short sleeved tops walking around the street.

A friends girlfriend had a very lucky escape when they were driving and their vehicle broke down , 4 locals stopped to supposedly help. They wanted to have sex with her and they only got away because one of them felt guilty and the boyfriend promised to take them to a place where there were lots of women.

So dress scantily at your peril!!

[QUOTE=cherrypie1;7200784] Men don't just see some skin and think 'I'm having it whether she likes it or not'.

Where do you think these men come from?? The Indians mainly come from small villages where they have never seen any part of a womans body except her hands, face and feet outside of marriage. They are never permited to be alone with a female.

They all watch MTV and see all these white western women parading about virtually naked and think we are all alike (promiscuous).

Do get real, what do you think seeing a girl/woman dressed in tiny short shorts and tight short sleeved tops walking around the streets does to them.

You are either very niave, stupid or just arrived.

I am none of the above. You obviously come under the heading of small-minded moron who thinks anyone wearing something a bit revealing was 'asking for it'. You're basically saying that all these men are potential rapists, get a grip.

Agree cherrypie...

Let's get a reality check here. Wearing skimpy stuff may offend the locals but it does not bring out the rape in men FFS

Incidentally, statistically 9 out of 10 people like gang rape...

Erm.. in the matter of rape and UAE, IMHO and perhaps someone i.e Banter 64 is in a position to corroborate/comment; the propensity is towards young males and not fems, regardless of how short their skirts are.
