OK seems that some of you have this fresh in your memories. Am I right in thinking I need to?

(1) get each cert notarised by an idependent UK solicitor
(2) send to FCO in Milton Keynes for apostille/attestation
(3) send to KSA embassy for them to do whatever they need to

Does the apostille get attached to the original or a copy?

I already went through the process once for the degree cert to get UAE residency.

That's right. When I went to the solicitor he refused to sign the original - he said all he could do was certify a photocopy as being a true copy. I contacted the UAE embassy and they said copies were OK but not sure about KSA - best to check with your employers whether they will accept a copy.

It's the same wherever you go. My daughter's Nigerian birth certificate recently went back to Nigeria for notarization/attestation and the original came back accompanied by a copy which had the various stamps.
