ooh good luck with that:unsure:
Did as much due diligence as possible and in the end decided it was worth the punt. The worst that can happen is that I end up back in London looking for a job. Pretty much the same position I am in now. |

Re: Degree attestation- Help please!
I took my notarized docs to the FCO office personally earlier today. Very efficient service - it took around 20 mins waiting time and they gave me the stickers on the spot.
I must say though, that around 1/2 the people in the waiting room were turned away at the documents checking window as they hadn't had their docs notarized first. The solicitors around the office there must be doing a roaring trade! |
Re: Degree attestation- Help please!
So my friend phones the FCO office today and they say there is no chance of a 3 week delay and that my friend should receive her docs by end of next week
Oyibopeppah- Hey mate glad things are going well for you! You had some problems in the beginning no? Kidsam_ Good luck with it all. Brave decision on your part as I had an offer from a local company but rejected. I was too scared to join in with the locals hehe and adament to work in free zone. |

Yess-o Groovychick, relating to my wife's and daughter's Nigerian passports. The UAE embassy didn't want to know, neither did Etihad or Emirates. Thanks to a clued-up contact, we were able to access the previously unaccessable website to make their applications. if you get my drift? |
Re: Degree attestation- Help please!
Well I'm delighted its worked out for you in the end. My friend tells me she also got her docs back today from FCO so thumbs up all around

Thanks Groovy. The last time I lived in UAE was the mid-nineties and it all seemed much easier. Anyway, as my mum used to say "it will all come out in the wash"..... Insallah
Funny thing is we are also book to fly on Aug 20th. |

Re: Degree attestation- Help please!
No, they usually attached their notary to the original document by means of fancy stamps and ribbons.

Re: Degree attestation- Help please!
It's correct, Haloola...
The solicitor who I saw made a copy of the degree certificate, and on the back notarized it as: ".....The copy degree certificate is a true copy of my valid degree certificate. AND I MAKE this declaration conscientiously believing the same to be true..." Along with the fancy stamps and ribbons. It passed the FCO and the UAE embassy requirements. |
