Re: Degree attestation- Help please!

Hey haloola sorry for the late reply.

My friend took her original degree certificate to be signed by a local solicitor not a notary public. The solicitor then made a copy of the certificate and signed that. She then sent both original (unsigned) and the signed copy to FCO in Milton Keynes who then got her degree back to her in 2 weeks with additional fancy stamps. I'd recommend going to Milton Keynes yourself if you have the time. Anyway then off to UAE Embassy in London for the final signature. Get there early. They open 9:30am and you should get your certificate back by 1pm =)

Goodluck

Hi - I am also going through this process and am now ready to send documents to FCO - my question is do you just write a brief note or is there a form to fill in? Web site is not easy!!!

Hi sweety,

Just write a quick note with your address (for sending back the documents). telephone number in case they may need to call and just a quick note perhaps saying you require the documents back as quickly as possible!

Nothing long- my mate just hand wrote a quick note and attached it.

Hi,
I know the website is really bad - it took me ages just to find the address! If you follow this link there's a section on postal applications which has a link to a cover sheet that you need to send with your certificates:

Really? My friends certificates came back without any printed cover sheet from their site?

That's what it says on the website anyway. But maybe they don't care as long as they've got all the info they need.

I'm doing exactly the same thing. How much does it cost for the UAE Embassy to do the necessaries? and this has to be done as part of my employment visa? So, as im going out on the 30 day visa, coming back then going again. I'll need it done by i go out again? or by the first time I leave?

Thankss

Hi,

The UAE Embassy in London charges £20 per document plus about £10 for 2 special delivery postages. I got them back in about a week, so about 2 weeks needed in total for the FCO and the Embassy. It's needed to get a visa.

I dont know anything about the 30 day visa - if it's a temporary one I guess you could wait until you go out permanently, but it'll probably be best to check with your employers.

Good luck!

Then getting everything to the Dubai embassy was even easier- then had everything signed off within 2 hours so just went and sat in Hyde Park and had a lunch- was a really nice day rather than packing and all the other stress related things connected with packing!

my missus needs it done so she can sponsor me, but has no idea where her cerificate is.

Any idea whats the best way of getting a replacement? Someone mentioned a company online somewhere that can sort all of this out for you,

ANyone have any clue on this?

Try the guys who initially issued the cert. I had to get a duplicate from Nottm Trent Uni after turning the house upside down. Cost 30 quid.

Sods law I found the original soon after.

once she's got a copy, if she doesn't want the hassle of sorting out all the paperwork, there's a company who will do it for you (can't rememer the cost, might have been 600 dhs?)...INDEX, tel: 04 355 0888, email: [email protected]...

they collected the certificate from my office and delivered all the documentation back for a small additional chage...i thought they were great...

I need to get my degree certs and prof cert attested for KSA.

OK seems that some of you have this fresh in your memories. Am I right in thinking I need to?

(1) get each cert notarised by an idependent UK solicitor
(2) send to FCO in Milton Keynes for apostille/attestation
(3) send to KSA embassy for them to do whatever they need to

Does the apostille get attached to the original or a copy?

I already went through the process once for the degree cert to get UAE residency.
