Went to the Corniche beach on Friday am to have a look, sand & the surrounding area is good but once you are in the sea you are upto your knees in clay !
Its like walking through Jelly, I think the beach past the EP is a better option, natural sand and better for kids, if my four year old daughter tried paddling in the sea at the Corniche she would probably disappear !

ok if you are travelling from raha to ADCB building on salam st yes it will be 45 mins, but you may be better going down 30th st (25 mins) to corniche, and then perhaps 15 mins along the corniche (either way it will be nearer the 45 mins at rush hour) especially now al salam st is being redeveloped because of the new developments there but lots of people have to do it, and some people drive all the way to Al Ain or Dubai as well.

well i would prefer a hotel than another palace, so lets hope so! The new rotana that is going up right opposite EP will have a nice beach, as Khaladiya Palace hotel that used to be there had a fantastic beach.

You are probably right Cherrypie 1, the problem appears to be that there is no 'wave action' along this stretch of water, therefore, the sea just 'silts up', Although I am certainly no expert it looks like the sea will have to be dredged on a regular basis, same problems will be experienced at 'The World' and 'The Palms'.
