Crewgirl - I was just joking, everyone will choose Doha over Riyadh (it is the capital of Saudi Arabia, an ultra-conservative Islamic kingdom that Qatar is next to). We have been here for years and there was an opportunity earlier this year to move to Doha which fell through. I was disappointed, but anyway. I was "frightened" by the thought of becoming a trailing wife for the first time in my life.

Just wanted to mention - as you are a phlebotomist I'm not sure you will be happy working in Qatar. These positions are generally filled by asian expats who are lucky to get GBP 300 a month. Not sure if phlebotomy positions will be available for western expats due to salary expectations.

Hairdressing will be a much better choice, either in a salon or you could free-lance and get a good customer base. Check out phlebotomy jobs, I could be wrong, some high end clinics may want western staff, but hospitals probably not.

I concur, and adding nails etc. going mobile, yu can easily do 100/day. That'll keep her in louboutins...

I hate men doing my hair too. My hairdresser at home also gives a good head massage using her norks as she walks around me.

im now going to google map areas,
any suggestions. west bay-is it close to shopes,restaurants,markets etc? can i walk there by myself?
