Have you gotten any update on the status from "Thank you for participating in our interview process"?

Thanks for sharing. This is helpful information.

I hope it helps. Still going through checks which seem pointless. They use https://certn.co/emea/ which has made some really strange requests to do background checks.

I’ve been told that this should be wrapped up by the end of July. They’ll send me an address in London soon to do a health check which I have to pay £90 for x-ray, blood test and more. Of course, I can claim that expense back through them as they have advised.

i could easily put together a flowchart describing their processes along with the artefacts they request at each step. Their recruitment process is the real test and not their interview. :D

What are the kinds of strange requests that have made?

Requests like:
  • Submission of your university degrees 5 times (twice to different individuals in Aramco within the same department).
  • A picture of yourself, your passport, your driving licence, a picture of you holding your passport (requested by Certn even though it is not required by the police certification requirement).
  • Sign 2 separate papers by hand and return them to the same place via post (which I didn’t do as I don’t have a printer and told them that I’ll sign it with my Microsoft Surface using digital ink).
  • Half of the systems used seem to have issues when it comes to uploading, making payments, logging in, etc. can be frustrating especially when they want it within a time period. Some of the time periods, I’ve just ignored and sent it when I’ve had a moment. They don’t seem to understand that you’re working, have a family and a life because Aramco Europe is under pressure from Saudi Aramco to get the documents across so they want it immediately.
  • Details of your parents, their birth, their blood type, their health conditions, their death, their nationality, their citizenship, etc. I just put N/A or I don’t know. Any further pushes and I just mentioned legal challenges with PII due to UK GDPR and DPA2018 so they backed down.

There’s definitely more if I go through my inbox but expect a lot of paperwork even after they’ve made the offer and you’ve accepted.

However, I keep being told that this process will be finished by the end of July as Aramco want me over in Saudi before the year is over ideally in November at the latest. Apparently, they have a business to run… erm really… I actually told HR ‘they could do with cutting down the process and paperwork especially when it comes to asking for the same documents several times.’ Otherwise, it will take as long as it takes because I have to work and I have a family.

Same here....still has not changed. Not sure what it exactly means. Been two weeks since I have interviewed. I did give Houston HR a thank you note but did not really get a reply from them. I guess its a wait and see.

I felt like my interview went well and I answered all
his technical questions. It was a weird structure though, like just a rapid fire of technical questions and then a thank you at the end. I felt like it’s not even possible to evaluate a persons experience or skill set like that. The job posting was totally misleading, cause everything they listed is what I do for my role. Maybe they were looking for PhD with extreme technical knowledge, not what they are asking in the job posting at all.

Hi, is there anyone here who is a "backup" candidate for Integrity Engineer position? How likely are the chances of getting an offer being a backup candidate? Thanks!

How would you know if you are a back up candidate? Do they go back to people who they did not select initially?

Yeah they do update the status that they will connect with you in future rather than plain not selected. See post from @zeroinfinite posted on 29th June.
